PRESIDENT & CEO
Dr. Peter Johnstone, IU Health Proton Therapy Center’s president and chief executive officer, began his career in radiation oncology in the U.S. Navy. He currently serves as the chair and William A. Mitchell professor of radiation oncology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. In January 2010, he assumed leadership for Indiana University Cyclotron Operations.
RADIATION ONCOLOGISTS
Dr. Jeffrey Buchsbaum joined the IU Health Proton Therapy Center in July 2010. He is an international speaker on pediatric radiation oncology and has authored four book chapters and multiple peer-reviewed papers and abstracts. He specializes in pediatric radiation oncology. He also treats adult tumors and is particularly interested in re-treatment of previously irradiated areas, the head and neck, pelvis, brain, and spine.
Dr. James "Jay" Douglas, joined the IU Health Proton Therapy Center in February 2011. He specializes in pediatric radiation oncology, and he also treats adult tumors. He is a widely respected and accomplished pediatric oncologist.
Dr. Mark McDonald joined the IU Health Proton Therapy Center in fall 2009. A board-certified radiation oncologist, he is an assistant professor of radiation oncology at Indiana University, where he leads the head and neck radiation oncology team. He serves on the American College of Radiology's expert panel for head and neck cancers and brain tumors. He provides care for patients with a wide variety of cancers, focusing on the head and neck, brain and spine.
Dr. Kevin McMullen joined the IU Health Proton Therapy Center radiation oncology in November 2011. He also is the Lions Endowed Scholar in Cancer Survivorship at the IU School of Medicine and the medical director of IU Health Univeristy Hospital. His clinical interests include pediatric radiation oncology, intracranial/extracranial stereotactic radiotherapy/radiosurgery, tumors of the central nervous system, cancers of the reticulo-endothelial system, palliative care and quality of life/neuro-cognition.
Dr. Teresa Oldham has provided care for patients since 2006. She joined the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2009 and currently specializes in proton therapy for prostate cancer.
